# Quotes

> Multi-line quote builder, quick add from contracted and previous prices, optional lines, discount approval, the quote workspace (next step, summary, history) and from quote to order, despatch and invoice.

A quote is more than a single price: several products, each with a monthly quantity, net price, discount and note, optional lines, validity and terms. In Solk quotes are created from the **Quotes** page, the opportunity page or Quick Entry; the number (`TKL-year-no`) and Record ID are assigned automatically.

## Builder {#builder}

**Quotes → New quote** and the **Quote** form on the opportunity page are the same builder:

- **Company and project:** typing the company loads its open projects; *automatic* uses the company's open project, *Open a new project* creates a new sales project with a name.
- **Lines:** product, monthly quantity (in the product's unit), list price, discount %, net price, line note (shown on the document) and **Optional** — optional lines are left out of the totals. Add / remove lines; discount and net price update each other.
- **Quick-add chips:** once a company is chosen, **contracted prices**, **lines of the last quote** and **frequently quoted products** appear as chips; clicking a chip adds the line with its price.
- **Summary:** monthly and annual amount, highest discount; a quote over the maximum discount goes to **manager approval** when saved ([Approvals](/guides/approvals)).
- Currency, payment terms, validity, contract length (validity of the contracted price on acceptance), description and terms.

## List {#list}

The **Quotes** page has status chips (*All · Draft · Awaiting approval · Presented · Expiring in 7 days · Expired · Accepted · Rejected*) with counts; each row shows all lines (expandable), a validity badge (*12 days left*, *expires today*, *expired 3 days ago*), a next-step hint, PDF and edit.

## Workspace {#workspace}

The quote page is a two-column workspace:

- The **Next step** box follows the status: *Present it to the customer* for drafts, *Waiting for manager approval* (*Awaiting your approval* for managers), a warning as validity nears its end, *Awaiting the customer's answer* (days since presented), *Create the order* when accepted — after the order, following the [order-to-invoice process](/guides/e-documents#process): *Issue the despatch*, *Invoice* or *Invoiced in accounting*.
- **Quick add** chips above the line table (contracted price, previous quote, frequently ordered product) and a discount % field on each line.
- On the right: **Summary** (net, list, discount, VAT, incl. VAT, annual; discount meter and limit), **Validity and terms**, **Customer** (tax ID, e-document registration, contracted prices and open orders), **Documents** (quote PDF, orders, e-Despatch notes and e-Invoices) and **History** (created, revisions, status changes).

## From quote to invoice {#to-invoice}

On an accepted quote **Create order** turns each line into an order with the customer's PO number (and sends it to the ERP when order sending is on). Shipment, despatch and invoice follow your [order-to-invoice process](/guides/e-documents); the **e-Invoice draft** button on the quote opens a draft with the invoiceable quantity of its orders.
