# Add a comment

`POST /api/v1/comments`

Starts a thread on the record or replies with `reply_to` (a resolved thread reopens). Users in `mentions` are added to the text as `@Full Name` and notified.

## Body

| `kind` (required) | string | Record type. Values: `customer`, `opp`, `contact`, `thread`, `lentry` |
| `obj_id` (required) | integer | Record id. |
| `body` (required) | string | Text (max 5,000 characters). |
| `reply_to` | integer | Comment being replied to. |
| `mentions` | array | Mentioned user ids (max 10). |
