AI models and your own key

Choose between Claude, GPT and Gemini models in Ask; connect through Solk or with your company's own API key; usage, data and agreements.

Ask (Ctrl+J), the deal assistant, the AI step in workflows, AI fields, the canvas assistant and call summaries all use the same AI connection. AI through Solk comes with the Advanced and Enterprise plans (the AI license module, with a monthly request allowance); AI with your own API key works on every plan, Essentials and Professional included. An admin switches it on; who may use it is set in user module permissions.

Choosing a model

The model button in the Ask box (under the box on the Today page, in the header of the Ask panel) lists models with name · provider · short description. The choice is per question and remembered in the browser.

Model Provider When
Auto — The default model (chosen by the admin; Claude Sonnet initially)
Claude Sonnet 5.5 Anthropic Balance of speed and intelligence — everyday questions
Claude Opus 5.5 Anthropic Deep analysis, long threads and reports
GPT-6.1 Sol OpenAI Complex work at a lower cost
GPT-6 Astra OpenAI OpenAI's most capable model
Gemini 3.8 Flash Google Very fast, short answers
Gemini 3.1 Pro Google Long context (preview)

Only enabled models of providers with a key are listed. Features other than Ask (assistant, workflows, fields, canvas, call summaries) use the default model. Whatever the model, the tools are the same: Ask only reads records you are allowed to see; contacts' phone numbers and email addresses are never sent.

Connection

Settings → AI (admins):

  • Through Solk (recommended; Advanced and Enterprise) — keys stay with Solk. Your plan's monthly request allowance applies and usage is counted in the vendor panel. Solk maintains the model list and updates it when new versions ship. On Essentials and Professional this option is shown but cannot be selected (Advanced · Enterprise label and Upgrade plan).
  • With your own API keys — enter your Anthropic, OpenAI or Google key. Requests go straight from your installation to the provider; the provider bills you, and Solk's monthly limit and request fee do not apply. Available on every plan; on Advanced and Enterprise your plan allowance stays as it is.

With your own key:

  1. Enter the key on the provider row and Save — it is stored encrypted and never shown again; a small test request runs right after saving (Connection OK — … replied). Test retries, the bin icon deletes it.
  2. How to connect → With your own API keys → Save. Without at least one key it keeps running through Solk. On Essentials and Professional there is no such step — once a key is saved the connection becomes your own key; then switch AI features on with the toggle at the top of the page.
  3. In the Models table switch models on or off, rename them, change model IDs (when a provider ships a new version) and pick the default. Requests and tokens this month are shown per model. Reset to default list restores the initial list.

Getting a key: console.anthropic.com · platform.openai.com · aistudio.google.com (in a project with billing enabled — do not use a free-tier key).

On Essentials and Professional

If your plan does not include the AI module:

  1. In Settings → AI, enter a key for a provider (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) and Save.
  2. Switch on AI features with the toggle at the top of the page.
  3. Choose who may use it in Users → Module permissions — the AI row shows a with your own key label. When AI is first switched on it is also added to users whose module list was set by hand; remove it there to restrict.

Usage with your own key is not billed by Solk (no per-user fee) and no module event is sent to the vendor panel. If you delete the keys, AI switches off and everything runs rule-based. After moving to Advanced you can switch to the Solk connection.

Data and agreements

  • Through Solk: Solk works with the providers under their commercial API terms; the providers are Solk's sub-processors and are listed in the privacy policy. Your company does not need a separate agreement or NDA with the provider — your terms with Solk apply.
  • With your own key: the agreement with the provider is yours (the terms you accept when opening the API account and the provider's data processing addendum). Requests do not pass through the Solk panel; questions and answers stay only in your installation's database (Ask history).
  • None of the three providers uses paid API traffic for model training by default; at Google this applies to the paid tier only.
  • The providers are outside Turkey: include them in your KVKK privacy notice and cross-border transfer assessment.

Older versions

The Auto · Fast · Deep choice from v38 and earlier keeps working: in the panel Fast maps to Gemini Flash (or the default when there is no Gemini key) and Deep to Claude Opus. If a provider does not recognise a model ID (400 / 404), the request falls back to the default model and the error is counted for that model.

  • Prompt templates — ready-made questions with / in the Ask box.
  • Plans — the AI module, the monthly request allowance and using your own key.
