Comments
Team-internal comment threads on companies, opportunities, people, email threads and list entries — @mentions, replies, resolving, and the Comments page.
Notes are a record's lasting information (a call summary, a decision). Comments are a team conversation: you ask a question, mention someone, and mark the thread Resolved when it's done. Comments never reach the customer and don't crowd the timeline.
Where you can comment
| Place | How |
|---|---|
| Company page | Comments card in the right column |
| Opportunity page | Comments card in the right column |
| Person | The comment button on the person's row on the company page — opens a side panel |
| Email thread | Comments on the thread page |
| List entry | Comments column in the list table — the comment belongs to the entry in that list, not to the record itself |
| Table view | Comments column in the company / person / opportunity table (open thread count; click to open the side panel) |
The side panel's Open record link goes to the record. Seeing a record is enough to comment on it; edit rights are not required.
Writing, mentioning, replying
- Type in the box and press Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on Mac) or Comment.
- Typing
@lists your teammates; the person you pick gets a mention notification. - A new thread notifies the record's owner (unless they wrote it).
- Every Reply notifies the person who started the thread and everyone who has written in it (Comments type — people can turn off its email under Settings → Notifications).
- You can edit or delete your own comments; deleting a thread also deletes its replies (author or admin).
Resolved
When the topic is done, click Resolved — anyone can. Resolved threads fold under Resolved comments at the bottom of the card and no longer count as open. A new reply on a resolved thread reopens it.
The Comments page
Comments in the sidebar (/comments):
- Mentioning me — threads where you were mentioned
- I'm in — threads you started or replied to
- All open threads — unresolved threads on records you can see
Show resolved includes closed threads. Each row leads to the record and the side panel.
Visibility
A comment follows the visibility of its record: in team mode you don't see comments on companies you can't see, and they're not listed on the Comments page. Make sure the person you mention can see the record — otherwise the link in their notification won't open. Workspace export includes comments.
