Dashboards and report types

Put several reports on one screen; measure the pipeline with funnel, time in stage, stage changes and historical value reports.

The report builder (Reports → Report builder) answers one question. Dashboards bring those reports together: a pipeline summary, the team's week, the screen for the management meeting. v30 adds four report types and list / view sources to the report builder.

Report types

In the report builder you first pick the report type. The new types are for opportunities.

Type Measures Measure Split Chart
Summary (grouping) The previous report builder — object, measure, grouping, split By type Any field Column, horizontal bar, line, single number, table
Funnel Opportunities (or amount) reaching each stage; conversion from the previous stage and from the start; win rate Opportunity count · Amount — Funnel, table
Time in stage Days opportunities spent in each stage (from stage history) Average days · Median days Owner Horizontal bar, column, table
Stage changes Stage transitions in the period (day / week / month) Change count New stage · Old stage · Owner Column, line, table
Historical values What the pipeline looked like in the past — amount or count of opportunities open on that day Open amount · Open opportunity count Stage Line, column, table

Notes:

  • Funnel counts the furthest stage an opportunity reached: an opportunity that got to Negotiation is also counted in Qualify, Viable and Present Solution. The date range applies to the opportunity's created or start date.
  • Time in stage measures completed stages by default; with Include current stages checked, opportunities still in a stage count with their time so far. The date range applies to the day the stage was left.
  • Historical values reads the daily snapshots (the ones the Pipeline page uses); days without a snapshot are reconstructed by rewinding stage history.
  • Amounts are always in the base currency.

Source: a list or a view

The Source field limits a report to the records of a list or a saved table view instead of all records — e.g. a funnel of the opportunities in the Q4 targets list. A view's filters are re-applied every time the report runs.

Dashboards

Dashboards in the sidebar (/dashboards). A new dashboard starts from one of three templates:

  • Sales pipeline — funnel, open amount by stage, monthly won, time in stage, stage changes, pipeline value history
  • Team activity — calls by rep, task load, monthly email, loss reasons
  • Blank dashboard — add reports yourself

Editing

Click Edit on a dashboard:

  • Add report — from your saved reports or the ready-made ones; Half width or Full width
  • Per widget: reorder (up / down), width, remove
  • Dashboard name, Share with team, Delete dashboard

A dashboard holds at most 16 reports. Deleting a dashboard doesn't delete its reports. A widget's title opens the report in the report builder.

Date range

The Date selector in the dashboard header applies to all widgets at once (this month, this quarter, this year, last 6 months…). With Each report's own setting selected, every report runs with its saved range.

Sharing and permissions

Can view Can edit
Not shared Creator and admins Creator and admins
Shared with team Everyone Creator and admins

Each widget runs with the permissions of the person viewing the dashboard: record visibility and module access apply, and a report that isn't shared shows as not shared on someone else's dashboard.
